PostSubject: ELITE ENTERTAINMENT    Mon May 09, 2011 8:41 pm

Elite Entertainment, founded in 1993, was initially created to fill a void in the laserdisc community. At the time it was clear that HORROR/SCI-FI titles were not getting any special treatment. No deleted scenes. No lost footage. Not even a theatrical trailer. . The premiere LD release was a "Special Collector's Edition" of George A. Romero's original 1968 classic "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD." For this very important project, Elite enlisted the help of Lucasfilm's THX program. The result was a laserdisc release that was nominated for two 1995 Laserdisc Awards.

I have seen quite a few elite releases and cant recommend them highly enough , I have recently watched for the first time maniac & gold told me to , both films were excellent. Then there are some real classics like romero's zombie films , the hammer collection and of course the great evil dead blood red laserdisc.

Anyone know of any other coloured laserdisc releases?

Great information again Admin.
The Evil Dead 2 blood red disc is sweet hey.
As for other colored discs, Japanese Rental LDs are a pretty cool yellow gold color. Don't know of any others though.

All of the CD-Video releases were 'Gold' discs. I have Queen Live in Budapest and it is quite a striking disc:

I have put together a top ten elite entertainment releases based on the film not the quality of picture or sound etc , if I had based it on anything other than the film then evil dead 2 would be no1 just for being a fantastic red disc. The scores are from the IMDB website and are user reviews.
