Now, who would have thought it? I usually haven't the slightest interest in a bunch of old nags running around a grassy circuit and jumping over a few fences, but tomorrow it's - THE GRAND NATIONAL!
Normally I feel sorry for these pathetic little creatures being put through this ordeal (and the horses too) and I generally want one of those riderless horses to come in first. Yet for the first time in half a century I actually care about who's going to win tomorrow because, in the words of that ridiculous Billy Fury film from the 60s, "I Gotta Horse".
I admit I've had to google for a list of Grand National Runners 2010 but I found one (
www.grand.national.me.uk), and it even suggested which horses had a "good chance", an "outside chance" or was a "risky runner". So naturally it'll be a risky runner that wins, won't it?
Nevertheless, I've picked my steed which was the only one I could find with a tenuous movie connection - "Oscar Time" - and if I'm the only one to enter....I shall win!
Go on, I dare you to beat me!
