British films are better ?

I have been watching quite a few british films lately and although there are some poor examples there has been some brilliant british films that in my opinion are superior to most american movies. British films are often made on a much smaller budget and I feel in most cases more effort is put into the plot than many of the big budget, heavily CGI'd Hollywood films.

A few british films I have recently watched are Nil by mouth , ladybird ladybird and secrets and lies which are all fantastic examples of great british film making.
